Heart Attack Friday Claims Felder Quinn
A heart attack early Friday morning claimed the life of Mr. Thomas Felder Quinn, 53, a retired textile machinist who had spent greater portions of the past ten years in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Mr. Quinn was stricken shortly after one a. m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. T. Evans, and Mr. Evans. He was rushed to Sylvan Grove Hospital where he expired about 2:45 Friday morning.
Born in Butts County, Mr. Quinn was the son, of Mr. Henry Quinn and Mrs. Myrtle Britt Quinn. For many years he was employed at the Pepperton Cotton Mill, later taking positions in South America industries where his wide knowledge of textile machines was put to use in a supervisory capacity of installing textile equipment.
Mr. Quinn returned to Georgia on May 13 of this year. He was a member of the Union Baptist Church in Spalding County.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at four o'clock from Union Baptist Church with the Rev. W. A. Ellenwood officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Surviving Mr. Quinn are his wife, Mrs. Lillian Peek Quinn; one son, Thomas F. Quinn Jr., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; mother, Mrs. Myrtle Britt Quinn, Jackson; one sister, Mrs. Roberta Reeves of Atlanta; one brother, Richard E. Quinn of Atlanta; four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Frank Peek Jr., Frank Bethune, Dennis O'Neal, Johnny Rivers, Bud Rossey, Erwin Bailey.
