Freight Train Accident
While freight train was trying to make a running switch here one day last week, Mr. Charlie Smith, a train hand in attempting to couple the cars, lost his balance and fell and was run over by a portion of the train and instantly killed. His fellow laborers seemed to be disaffected, but some of the people of this place shed tears for the unfortunate man´s mother, repeating the poem:’ Somebody´s darling is dying now’, etc.
