Mrs. Helen Ruth Byars Uhl, 71, of 824 Thomaston Street, Barnesville, died early Tuesday morning, June 25th, at the Griffin-Spalding County Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Uhl was born in Butts County, daughter of, the late Mr. Thomas J. Byars and the late Mrs. Cora Bell Fincher Byars. She had made her home in Barnesville for many years and was employed by Wisebram's Department Store in Barnesville until her health forced her retirement in March 1973. Mrs. Uhl was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Barnesville.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon Jurie 26, at two o'clock from the First Presbyterian Church with. the Rev. Jack Mummert officiating. Interment was in the Byars-Watkins family cemetery near Jackson. Haisten Funeral Home of Barnesville was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Uhl is survived by a sister, Miss Lois Byars of Barnesville; several nieces and nephews.
