Curtis Underwood
Young man Dies In Butts County Jail
Curtis Underwood, a young white man who was confined in the Butts county jail several days ago on a warrant charging lunacy, died last Friday morning about 12 o'clock, soon after a jury had adjudged him not a fit subject for the state sanitarium. Fever and other complications caused his death. His father is said to live in Chattanooga.
T. J. Harris of near Jackson is an uncle of Underwood. The funeral was held Saturday morning. The deceased is said to have been a very sick man when he was put in jail.
