Capt. Unger Killed In Vietnam
Capt. Don Unger, brother of Mrs. Bert Carmichael III of Isom, Kentucky, was killed in Vietnam May 3rd when the cargo plane he was flying supplies from Thailand to An Loc was shot down. Capt. Unger was pilot of the C-130 and was based in Thailand. Details of the actual downing of the plane are sketchy here but it is believed the plane was shot down by anti-aircraft fire.
Capt. Unger was the son of Rev. and Mrs. H. Y. Unger of Lake Worth, Fla. He was married to Mrs. Bonnie McAfee Unger of West Palm Beach, Fla. and they have two children, Mark, 3, and Lee Ann, 7 months.
Memorial services will be conducted Friday night in West Palm Beach at 6:30 o'clock from the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Margaret Silas Carmichael of Jackson left Wednesday night to be with the family and attend memorial services.
