Mrs. Mary Juel Tolbert Upshaw

Mrs. Mary Juel Tolbert Upshaw, 76, of 626 Joy Street in Jackson died Wednesday morning at the Living Center in Griffin following an illness of one year.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, April 22, in the chapel of Haisten Fumeral Home in Jackson, with the Rev. Danny Hughes officiating. Interment was in Jackson City Cemetery.
Mrs. Upshaw was born in Meriwether County, daughter of the late Hamp and Mattie Tolbert. She was a member of the Grantville United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Upshaw was employed by the Georgia State Patrol Headquarters in Atlanta for 35, retiring as a supervisor, in the revocation department.
Survivors include her husband, John E. Upshaw of Jackson; son, Billy H. Wortham of Jonesboro; daughter, Jewell Ann Duffy of Hapeville; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Haisten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
