Mrs. Kate McMichael Valentino

Mrs. Valentino Found Dead in Her Residence.
Mrs. Kate Valentino, member of widely known Butts county families, who resided alone on Indian Springs street, was found dead at the dining table Saturday night when neighbors saw a light burning about 11 o'clock and made an investigation.
Death is thought to have occurred several hours earlier. The evening meal had not been touched and the radio was turned on. The verdict of the coroner's jury was that death resulted from natural causes.
Daughter of the late McCune McMichael and his wife, Nannie Bailey McMichael, Mrs. Valentino widow of James D. Valentino, resided in Butts county all her life and was beloved by a host of friends. Since the death of her sister, Miss Marie McMichael, she had resided alone. She had been in feeble health for several years. Mrs. Valentino was 78 years of age and was a member of the Jackson Methodist church.
She was the last of a family of brothers and sisters, including Miss Marie McMichael of Jackson; Mrs. Pearl Thompson of Charlotte, N.C.; Mrs. Myrtice Boyd of Eagle Lake, Fla.; William and Dave of McMichael Jackson.
Survivors are one niece, Mrs. Pat Allen of Kissimmee, Fla.; three nephews, Louie Thompson of Charlotte, N.C., and Bill and Tom Boyd of Winter Haven, Fla.
Funeral services were held at the Jackson Methodist church Monday morning at 10:30. Rev. W. S. Norton, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in the family lot in Jackson cemetery and Thornton Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
The pallbearers were Settle Cook, J. C. Kimbell, Bob Carmichael, J. B. White, J. Avon Gaston and D. A. Woodward.
