Eugene Franklin (Pete) Varner

Eugene Franklin (Pete) Varner, 50, of 240 Watkins Drive,. Jackson, died Sept 1 at Henry General Hospital following a brief illness.
The funeral was held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Indian Springs with the Rev. B. J. Virgil officiating. Burial was in the Jackson cemetery.
Mr. Varner was born in Butts County, son of the late Jerome and Ola Mae Varner.
He was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Varner; sons, John Franklin Varner and Thomas Varner, both of Jenkinsburg, Gary Varner of Jackson, and Sgt Willie Varner of Fort Hood, Texas; daughters, Sherlene Webb of North Carolina, Glenda Flemister of Griffin, and, Kathy Varner of Jackson; sisters, Mary Taylor of Jackson, Hattie Nixon and Daisy Stubbs, both of Jacksonville, Fla., and Carolyn Webb of Forsyth; brothers, Marvin Varner of Atlanta and Anthony Varner of Cleveland, Ohio; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Trimier-Jackson Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
