Alvin Eugene Vaughn
Alvin Eugene (John) Vaughn, 62, of Route 3, Jackson, Buster Brown Road, died May 26 at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Vaughn was born in Butts County, son of the late Braxton B. and Georgia Mae Maddox Vaughn. He was a retired farmer and textile worker and a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church in Butts County. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Pansy Moore Vaughn of Jackson; daughter, Louette Vaughn of Austell; son, Stanley Vaughn of Jackson; daughter-in-law, Cindy Vaughn of Jackson; grandsons, Bragg and Lee Vaughn, both of Jackson; sister, Fannie Broach of Monroe; brothers, H. H. Vaughn and R. A. Vaughn, both of Jackson; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held May 27. at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Sherrell Funeral Home with the Rev. Maxie Threatt and Elder Clyde Meek officiating. Burial was in the Old Bethel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dr. Jack Newman, Marvin Moore, Benny Moore, David Bentley, Norman Young, and Melvin Moore.
Sherrell Funeral Horne was in charge of arrangements.
