Benjamin Franklin Vaughn

Benjamin Franklin Vaughn of Jackson died Dec. 26 in Atlanta after an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Stewart Baptist Church in Newton County with Rev. Bobby Singleton officiating. Interment was in the Stewart Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Vaughn was born Sept. 2, 1924 in Butts County, son of the late Edward Shorty Vaughn and Annie Ruth Ogletree Vaughn. He was a carpenter and veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include wife, Lavaughn Vaughn of Jackson; sons Charles and Emory Vaughn, both of Jackson; daughters Rebecca Caudell of Homer, Linda Scogin of Athens, Joanne Mathis and Anita Lane, both of Jackson, and Elaine Vaughn of Milledgeville; mother; brothers James E. Vaughn of Oneida, Tenn., Robert I. Vaughn of Norwood, Mo., Larry Vaughn and Eugene Vaughn, both of Forsyth, and Thomas Vaughn of Germany; sisters Martha White of Griffin; Rosalena Faulkner, Willie Ruth Butler and Marion Chandler, all of Forsyth; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Sherrell Funeral Home in Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
