Mr. George Clifford Vaughn
G. C. Vaughn, Butts Native, Passes Sunday
Mr. George Clifford Vaughn, 74, a retired farmer of Route One, Barnesville, died Sunday afternoon at the Veterans Hospital in Dublin where he had been a patient for several months.
A native of Butts County, he had lived in Barnesville for 28 years. He was a veteran of World War One and was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Monroe County.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Martha Jones Vaughn; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Mae Smith of Barnesville and Mrs. Margaret Boyt of Yatesville; four sons, Ralph Vaughn, Roy Vaughn, the Rev. Henry Vaughn and the Rev. Clifford Vaughn, all of Barnesville; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Brown and Mrs. Tunella Maddox of Jackson; one brother, Dewitt Vaughn of Oaktown, Ind.; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Midway Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Coleman and the Rev. Wayman Merritt officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with Haisten Funeral Home of Barnesville in charge of arrangements.
