Jame O. Vaughn Called By Death
James Otis Vaughn, 65, member of widely known Butts county families, died in an Atlanta hospital early Sunday. He had been in feeble health for sometime and confined in the hospital for thirty days.
Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Vaughn, he was born and reared in the county where he spent his entire life. He was engaged in farming and was active in community affairs and was a member of Old Bethel Primitive Baptist church.
Survivors are his wife, the former Miss Ossie Holloway; two sisters, Mrs. A. G. Brown and Mrs. L. N. Maddox of Jackson; five brothers, Troy Vaughn of Jasper Fla.; T. W and B. B. Vaughn of Jackson; G. C. Vaughn of Barnesville and H. D. Vaughn of Oaktown, Ind.; several nieces, and nephew.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 at Old Bethel church with Rev. J. P. S. Stephens and Rev. Walter Blackwell officiating. Pallbearers were Rufus Vaughn, Victor Brown, Lee Maddox, Ralph, Elliott and Lamar Vaughn.
Burial was in the churchyard and arrangements were in charge of Haisten Funeral Home.
