Mrs. Lula Sanders Pope Vickers

Mrs. Vickers, 92, Died On Monday
Mrs. N. K. Vickers, 92, of Flovilla, died Monday night about 9:15 o'clock at Sylvan Grove Hospital following a period of declining health.
Mrs. Vickers, one of Butts County's oldest residents, was born in Jasper County December 5, 1878 as Miss Lula Sanders Pope. She was the daughter of the late Mr. William Kerby Pope of Jasper County and Mrs. Emily Virginia Maddox Pope of Butts County. She married Mr. N. K. Vickers on October 12, 1906 and was his constant companion until his death on March 14, 1969. Mrs. Vickers was a member of the Pleasant Grove Congregational Methodist Church and she was affectionately known by her many friends as "Miss Sannie."
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock from the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Landrum, pastor of the Pleasant Grove Congregational Methodist Church, and Rev. Gordon Fincher, pastor of the Jenkinsburg Charge, officiating. Interment was in Sandy Creek Cemetery with Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Vickers is survived by three daughters, Mrs. David Brisendine of Griffin, Mrs. Olin Baker of Macon and Mrs. W. A. Smith of Flovilla; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were W. E. Waites, Norbert Gilbert, Adel Moncrief, Robert Riley, Luther Jones and Henry Riley.
