N. K. Vickers Buried Sunday At Sandy Creek
Mr. N. K. Vickers, 93, widely known resident of the Flovilla-Cork Community, died Friday afternoon at Sylvan Grove Hospital following an illness of about two weeks.
A retired farmer, he was born in Butts County, the son of Mr. Jacob Vickers and Mrs. Rosa Nelson Vickers. He was a member of the Indian Springs Lodge No. 307, F&AM.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at two o'clock from the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Galloway, pastor of the Jenkinsburg Methodist Charge and Rev. Charles Stevens, pastor of Pleasant Grove Congregational Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Sandy Creek Cemetery with Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Vickers is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sannie Pope Vickers of Flovilla; three daughters, Mrs. David Brisendine of Griffin, Mrs. Olan Baker of Macon, and Mrs. W. A. Smith of Flovilla; five grandchildren; one great grand-child.
Pallbearers were Robert Riley, Charles Wilmer Greer, Luther Jones, Adel Moncrief, Frank McMichael and Henry Riley.
