William Howard Vickers

Mr. W. H. Vickers Answers Summons.
Mr. W. H. Vickers, one of Butts county's oldest citizens died at his home at Iron Springs district Monday evening. Mr. Vickers was 82 years old. He was a Confederate veteran, and served in the Virginia army. He was one of the managers of the polls for the first election after the war.
Mr. Vickers was an inoffensive harmless man of many sterling qualities. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. T. W. Edwards and Miss Ollie Vickers; one sister, Mrs. Kinard and scores of grandchildren.
The funeral was held at the family burying ground, near the Giles place, Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. W. O. Sharp.
