Mrs. Ludie Elizabeth Yancey Barnes
MRS. LUDIE YANCEY SUMMONED BY DEATH
The death of Mrs. Ludie Elizabeth Yancey, 71 years of age, occurred at 6 o'clock Thursday morning, May 10, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. C.Redman. She had been in declining health for several weeks and her condition had been critical for several days. To a wide circle of friends, Mrs. Yancey's death brought deep sorrow.
She was born and reared in Butts County and was Miss Ludie Barnes before her marriage. She was the widow of the late Mr. J. W. (Dock) Yancey. Mrs. Yancey was a member of the Methodist church and was beloved by a hot of friends for her fine qualities of character.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. H. H. Greer, of Fitzgerald, Mrs. H. B. Bankston and Mrs. W. C. Redman, of Jackson, Georgia; two sons, Mr. P. B. Yancey of Jackson, and Mr. C. G. Yancey of Fitzgerald; a sister Mrs. Griffin McMichael, of Jasper county. She is also survived by several grand children.
Funeral services were held at Macedonia Friday morning at 11 o'clock and Rev. L. L. Burch of Jenkinsburg, conducted the services. Interment was in the church cemetery.
