Mr. Bartow Bee Youmans

Former Resident Called by Death
The death of Mr. B. B. Youmans, 78 years of age, former resident of Jackson, occurred Tuesday morning at his home in College Park after being in ill health three years. Mr. Youmans was a telegraph operator here many, years ago and while residing in Jackson married Miss Addie McGallum, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John McCallum, of Jackson.
Native of Hampton, SY; he served as telegraph operator in several cities of the state. After being retired he moved to College Pack for permanent residence. He was a member of the Baptist church and the Masonic lodge.
Funeral services were held at the College Park Baptist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. L. E. Roberts officiating. Interment was in the cemetery in Jackson.
He is survived by his wife; five sons, Harold Youmans, College Park; Edwin Youmans, Westminster, S.C.; Francis Youmans, Marian, Va.; Lauren Youmans, College Park; Julian Youmans, Atlanta; two daughters, Mrs. Willis Battle, Columbus and Mrs. Sarah Huff, College Park, and several grandchildren. Mrs. S. B. Kinard and Mrs. J. H. Carmichael, of Jackson, Mrs. J. M. Kinard, of Baxley, and Mrs. Stallworth, of Atlanta, are sisters of Mrs. Youmans.
