Mr. J. W. Young, 85, Passes Sunday
The death of Mr. Joseph W. Young, 85 years of age, occurred at the home of his son, Mr. H. W. Young at Four Points, at 4:20 Sunday afternoon. In declining health for some time, he suffered from the infirmities of age.
Mr. Young was born in Morgan county and resided there until a few years ago when he came here to be with his children, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Young. He was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist church in Morgan county and was a sterling and esteemed citizen and many friends regret to learn of his passing.
He is survived by his wife, who previous to her marriage was Miss Susie Davis; three sons, Curtis, of Monroe, Ga.; Ed, of Lincolnton, N. C, and H. W. Young, of Jackson; four daughters, Mrs. Kate Hester, of Shelby, N. C; Mrs. Banche Gordon, of Acmo, Ala.; Mrs. Bammie Crawford, of Shelby, N. C , and Mrs. Bessie Adair, of Atlanta.
Funeral rites were held at Macedonia church Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the pastor Rev. H. E. Gaddy, officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
