Mrs. Susan Daniel Young

Mrs. Young Passes On Christmas Day
Mrs. J. W. Young, aged 86, prominent and beloved resident of the Cedar Rock community, died at 6 o'clock Christmas morning at the home of her son, H. W. Young. She had been in feeble health for the past several months and the family had despaired of her recovery.
A native of Morgan county, where she was connected with prominent families, Mrs. Young had resided here for only a few years. She was the daughter of Elijah and Catherine Awtry Daniel, pioneer residents of Morgan county. A long and useful life was spent in kind deeds to those about her and in unselfish service to her family. She held membership in Sandy Creek church in Morgan county. A few years ago Mr. and Mrs. Young came here to live with their children. Mr. Young died the past March.
Surviving relatives include three sons, Ed Young, of Lincolnton, N. C., Carter Young, of Logansville, and H. V. Young, of Jackson; four daughters, Mrs. Kate Hester and Mrs. F. A. Crawford, of Shelby, N. C., Mrs. T. B. Gordon, of Acmore, Ala., and Mrs. J. P. Adair, of Atlanta.
Funeral services were held at Macedonia church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and Rev. H. E. Gaddy, pastor of the church, was the officiating minister. Interment was in the churchyard.
