Death Claimed Mrs. Zachary On Saturday
Mrs. Luta Mae Elliott Zachary, 85, of 168 Walker Street, Apt. C, died Saturday afternoon at the Sylvan Grove Hospital in Jackson following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Zachary was a native of Baldwin, Miss. She had lived in Decatur, Ga. for many years prior to moving to Jackson about three years ago to live with her daughter.
She was a member of the Patillo United Methodist Church in Decatur.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Joseph M. Rogers, Buena Vista, Ga., Mrs. Alice Z. Coleman, of Jackson, and Mrs. J. B. Lowry, Decatur; two sons, Mr. William E. Zachary, Decatur, and Mr. John R. Zachary, Columbia, S. C.; one sister, Mrs. S. J. Herrington, Atlanta; 11 grandchildren including Mrs. Mary Alice Vickers of Jackson; 13 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at the graveside in Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Ga. Rev. Norman Dulap officiated. Pallbearers were Wayne Coleman, Mike Coleman, Gregg Coleman, Dr. John Rogers, James Lowry, and William E. Zachary, Jr.
Haisten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
