Page 144: In Chambers, March 15, 1858, Calhoun County, Georgia
The petition of George W. Arnold of said county Shows that James J. Arnold of said
county died intestate and that his Estate is liable to go to waste and petitioner
further shows that said Estate to the best of his knowledge, information and belief
is worth about one Thousand dollars. And whereas your petitioner applies for Temporary
Letters of Administration of said Estate - and further shows that he is willing
to comply with the Terms of the Law by given Bond and security and taking the usual
oath and he here now tenders the Court with Needham Arnold and Benjamin Arnold as
his security on the Administration of said Estate and Prays the Court to grant his
petition and issue of Administration and Warrant of appraisement in Terms of the

Page 154: April Term 1858. The Court of Ordinary met Monday April 26th 1858
persuant to adjournment. R. F. Jones, Ordy. To the Honorable Court of Ordinary of
said County. The petition of George W. Arnold shows that he has applied for letters
of Administration on the Estate of James J. Arnold late of said County deceased
and that citation and notice thereof was issued by Richard F. Jones Ordinary of
said County on the 18th day of March 1858 which was published in the Albany Patriot
for Thirty days thereafter. And petitioner further that said estate to the best
of his knowledge and belief is worth one Thousand dollars. And petitioner further
shows that he is willing to comply with the Terms of the Law by giving bond and
Security and taking the usual oath of office and he here now tenders the court with
Needham Arnold and Benjamin Arnold as his securities on the Administration bond
of said Estate and prays the Court to grant his petition and issue Letters of Administration
and Warrant of Appraisement in Terms of the Law.

and ordered that he be permitted to take the oath of office.)

Upon the application of George W. Arnold Administrator on the Estate of James J.
Arnold deceased to have appraisers appointed to allow and set apart a Twelve months
support for the widow and five children or what amount of money or other property
should be allowed them for same time. It is therefore on motion ordered by the court
that Joseph Eubanks, Windsor Follett, Nicholas Wells, Martin Eubanks and Thaddeus
Jones be and they are hereby appointed Appraisers for the purpose aforesaid. And
it is further ordered that the said appraisers make a Return of their actings and
doings to said Court in compliance with the Laws. Richard F. Jones, Ordy.

James J. Arnold deceased having a return of his account current with said estate
which has been of file in the office of said court for Thirty days last past and
been duly examined and approved by the Court - It is ordered that the same be received

George W. Arnold Administrator on the estate of James J. Arnold deceased having
a notice that he should apply to said court for leave to see the real Estate of
said deceased - Which notice was published in the Albany Patriot for Sixty days
before this Court and no objection having been shown - It is on motion ordered that
the said George W. Arnold have leave to sell said Estate upon giving notice in Terms
