April 1847

Halled ashes and dung to day-clear and plesent day.

Rain in the morning--I went to the road to work but found no hands their and came home --bilt some fence--very worm day.

Wint to Wilsons to the shop-3 plows layed and two sharped and granpap and the boys halle dung-thunder in the morning clear in the evening and very warm.

Sabath day -wint to church to day-Mr. Winn preached his text was the wise virgins and the foolish-clear and plesent day.

Thrashed our oats and plowed some-I wint to Wilsons to the shop-thunder in the morning-clear in the evening

6. Commenced sowing our oats-broke my mule to day to tlle harrow and plow-rain at 12 o clock with thunder.

plowed all. day-puting in oats-clear and warm!.

finished sowing oats to day by hand work-very warm day - high wind

9. Roled logs for pap in the morning and roled logs for John Endsley- clear and plesent day.

10. Worked on the road to day and the boys and granpap roled logs and haled rails--rain to day.

11 Sabath wint to church to day-Whitley preached wint to S. H. M Larty at night--clear and warm.

12. Came home fron S. H. Mlartys -commenced ridging my cotton patch-rain at 12 o clock--choped in the newground in the evening rain to day.

Worked at different things to day-clear and warm.

Planted my cotton to day -warm with thunder.

Plowed in the morning and set out one row of apple trees -very stormy in the evening with some rain.

Plowed un well-sore eyes-clear.

Sabath day at home-sore eyes-clear,

Plowed to day-clear.

Cliped sheap to day -clear.

Plowed to day-clear day.

22. Planted paps patch of corn and scatered his manure-cloudy day.

23 Commenced building new ground fence-cloudy.

24. Helped S. H. M Larty to role logs-clear-put my rnair to the horse.

25. Sabath day at home to day-clear.

26. Built fence in the morning and roled logs for Mr Entrycan. In the evening.

27. Built fence to day-very tired to night-clear.

28. Haled rails in morning and asked hands to my log roling in the evening.

29 Roled my log to day-hands worked very brisk- finished in good time -cloudy.

30. Roled logs for Mr. M Kelvy - cloudy and rain . ---fore wet dayes in this month and 26 dry days-a fine month for doing work.
