Carroll County GA Death Index

The State of Georgia began keeping death certificates in 1919. These records for Deaths in Carroll County have been taken from the microfiche of the State Death Index which includes deaths in all counties. The microfiche are alphabetical by year and the below records have been extracted and combined into one database so that we don't have to look at the individual years. Please keep in mind that many families still prepared and buried their own dead and no certificate was made.

A copy of the original birth or death certificate sometimes provides additional information such as dates, locations, parents, spouses, or other information. It also provides documentation collected by careful genealogists or lineage societies.

The Secretary of State, Georgia, now has death certificates on line 1919 - 1926.  Hopefully they will continue to add to the collection.  This site allows you to search by individuals name.  Please always remember that certificates are filed in the County of death, not county of residence.  Also, you can type in the County name only and search to retrieve a copy of all deaths for the county for all years.  STATE OF GA:  Death Certificates.

Below is a list of deaths that occurred in Carroll County, 1919 - 1939.   They could have lived in Haralson Co. or another county  and died in a hospital in Carroll or in an accident.  In the late 1940's the county of residence was included on the death certificates.

I have extracted records only thru 1939.  If you know the approximate year of death after 1939 I can look at the remaining pages thru 1999, however, I do not relish looking through 60 years of records if you do not know the approximate death date.
