HARDY JOINER WWI VETERAN DIED DEC. 25

World World I Veteran Hardy Joiner passed away early Monday evening, December 25, at the family home on RFD 3, Douglas. He was 65 years of age and had suffered an extended illness. He was a farmer, native of Coffee County, and member of the Mora Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Harrell Grove Church with the Reverends Julian Rowan, Olin Bennett and Felton Gaskin officiating. Special music was sung by members of the church choir and interment was in Harrell Grove Cemetery. The deceased's nephews, Quitman, Albert, Leavy and Fred Joiner, Autry Richardson and Pleasant Kirkland served as pallbearers.

He is survived by his widow, three daughters and three sons: Mrs. Mildred Bullock and Mrs. Geraldine Musgrove, of Douglas, Mrs. Minnie Ward, Oswald and Horace Joiner, all of Jacksonville, Fl., and Carlton Joiner, Douglas. Four brothers and two sisters also survive: Charlie, Love and Warren Joiner, Douglas, Gaines Joiner, Fitzgerald, Mrs. Minnie Dell Richardson, Douglas, and Mrs. Lucy Carver, Nicholls.
Sims Funeral Home of Douglas was in charge of arrangements.
