THOMAS MCGOVERN DIES AT BROXTON


One of Oldest Residents in County

Was Prosperous Farmer.


Another of the few surviving pioneers of Coffee county passed last Sunday morning at his home near Broxton when the spirit of Mr. Thomas McGovern, Sr., took its flight at the age of 85 years. His health had been good all his life and the end came due to his ripened age.

The funeral took place at his home at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon. He had been a devout Catholic all his life and the funeral was conducted by a Priest from Albany, Ga. The burial took place at Reedy Branch church and was attended by a large crowd of friends and relatives.

The Douglas Undertaking Company had charge of the funeral arrangements.

Mr. McGovern was recognized as a leader in his community and had made many friends during his long and useful life. He is survived by several children, all grown. he will be missed greatly from his large circle of friends where he had lived for many years.
