Gordon County
This Indenture made
this the fifteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one
Thousand eight hundred and fifty four. Witnesseth that
whereas Dennis Miller and John Miller as
executors to the will and testament of David Miller
late of said County deceased did after duly and publicly
advertised agreeable to law a certain tract or lot of land
lying and being in the county of Gordon and state aforesaid
known and
distinguished as lot
No (292) two hundred and ninety two and in (14) fourteenth
district and (3) third section containing (160) one hundred
and sixty acres more or less as the property of said
David Miller deceased all the interest he had in and to
the same, whereas the said Dennis Miller and John
Miller as executers aforesaid did on the first Tuesday
to wit on the first day of August one thousand eight hundred
and fifty four between the lawful hours of of [sic] sale
upon [?] the courthouse door in the county of Gordon and
state aforesaid expose said tract or lot of land as above
described to public outcry and M B Tally being the
highest and Last bidder the same was Knocked off to the said
M B Tally of Gordon County and state aforesaid for
the sum of five hundred dollars. Witness that for and in
consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to us in
hand paid by M B Tally the receipt witnesses hereby
acknowledged do as executors as aforesaid doth bargain and
sell and c[ ] unto the said M B Tally his heirs and
assigns all the claims on title or in trust that the said
David Miller deceased held or claimed in and to the
above described lot or tract of land In testimony whereof we
hereunto set our hand and affixed our seals this the
fifteenth day of August one thousand eight hundred and fifty
four.
