Resignation
   By reason of protracted ill health I respectfully tender my Resignation as
Jr 2nd Lieutenant of Co "D" 8th Battalion Ga Vol of Infantry.(under med
certificate). I certify in honor. That I am not indebted to the Confederate
States that I am not under charge in sentence of a Court Martial, that I have
no government property in my possession.
                              I am very respectfully

    Office Medical Examining Board Walkers Division
                                   March 25th 1864
J. Trimble 2nd Lieut Co D 8th Ga Batt having applied for a certificate in
which to ground a tender of Resignation do hereby certify that we have
carefully examined this officer and find that he is suffering from Chronic
Rheumatism of 12 months duration. And that in consequence thereof he is in our
opinion unfit for duty. We therefore respectfully recomend that his
resignation be accepted
