Mr. Ben F. Pack, 65, of Rte. 1, Ranger, died Monday
afternoon at 4:45 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital, following a
heart attack. Mr. Pack was born in Pickens County, April 18,
1912, a son of the late Henry and Susie Tippens Pack.
He was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, where he had
served as a deacon since 1955. He had been employed by
Lacey Mills for the past 13 years and was married to the
former IL Deal, to whom he was married for 42 years,
who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs.
Richard (Doris) Jackson of Dalton; a son, Gerald Pack
of Dalton; two granddaughters, Joyce Pack and Sonya
Pack; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Black of Rte. 4,
Chatsworth, Mrs. Addie Lawson of Cleveland, Tennessee,
and Mrs. Jewell Watkins of Trion; a brother Cecil
Pack of Ranger; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral
services were Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Hopewell Baptist
Church with the Revs. Sam Bryan and Harvey Silvers
officiating. Rev. Lamar Beason was in charge of
graveside services. Music was arranged by the Lee Hunt
Quartet. Active pallbearers serving included, Rev. Luther
Patterson, Rev. M. L. Clark, Rev. Jerry Noland, Jack Crider,
T. J. Silvers and employees of Lacey Mills. Burial was in
the church cemetery. Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home.

Ben F. Pack was preceded in death by grandparents,
Andrew J. and Martha E. Pack.
