Who Are These Men?

I believe the above picture to have been taken in Mud Creek about 1905.  The back of the photo states that it is of the Mud Creek Militia, but I have not been able to locate any reference to this unit.  The man in the back row third from the left, is my Great Grandfather, Thomas Newton Thomason (Dec 15, 1843 - June 12, 1934).  He served in Company I, 11th Georgia.  Does anyone have knowledge of who these other men might be?  This photo could be a treasure for someone who has no other picture of their ancestor.  Please email me at: davidthomason73@hotmail.com with your thoughts.

Battle Flag of Co. C, 65th Georgia Volunteer Infantry

The "Dixie Rangers"

This 35"x72" flag was captured near Barnesville, GA, in mid-April 1965, by a detachment of the 4th Indiana Cavalry.  It is a cotton First National pattern, twelve stars, yellow silk fringe with the unit name painted in black on the reverse. The flag currently resides in the collection of the Museum of the Confederacy, Richmond, Va. (item WD487)  - Information & Image courtesy of Michael Gay.   The 65th, Co. C was formed in White county, and my gg-grandfather John Enoch Dixon was a member.  White County was split off from Habersham in 1858.
