![]() This is a photo of my Aunt Conise Crow Frye (1884-1957) and Uncle Julius Frye (1882-1949), and their three oldest sons: Reginald Heidt Frye (1904-1990), Maurice Cortez Frye (1905-1960), Dennis Earl Frye (1908-1993). I didn't learn the name of the family mule. Four other children born to this family were: (4) Edgar Alton Frye (1911-1948), (5)Nevah Alene Frye (1916-1998), (6) Dorothy Ella Mae Frye (1920-2002), and (7) Leon Boland Frye, (1925-ca. 2003.) Aunt Conise and Uncle Julius Frye moved from Tocoa, GA, to Atlanta in the early to middle 1920s. Julius, a carpenter, built his family home at 1966 Lakewood Ave. Their bustling household was always a very hospitable and welcoming place. On numerous occasions it was a home away from home for visiting relatives and friends from north Georgia or for motherless siblings or cousins such as Conise's youngest brother Hubert E. Crow or Hazel Cobb, the oldest daughter of Conise's sister Ella Mae Crow Cobb who had died in childbirth in 1916. Submitted by Ronald G. Crowe |
