John W. and Nancy J. (Daniel) Akins Originally from Union Co., GA but resided in Tadmore, Hall Co. from 1880's until their deaths in the early 1900's. They are buried at Lebanon Meth Ch Cem., a/k/a King Cem. in Hall Co., GA Nancy J. DANIEL-AKINS died in 1905 and he remarried in 1906 to Eva FRICKS-MEDLIN. John was murdered while walking home one day by a man Eva hired according to family stories offered by his Texas descendants. He was beaten to death with one of those old razor sharpening straps. A death date was never added to his tombstone. I am hoping to gather in 2012 the newspaper articles about his murder and learn the real death date. Eva was first the mistress of Caleb CHITWOOD [the illegitimate son of wealthy, infamous Stephen GRIFFETH of Pickens Co. and Phoebe CHITWOOD of Franklin Co.] who was grandfather of baseball player, Ty COBB. Eva married Joseph MEDLIN of Banks Co. in 1885 and married John W. AKINS in 1905. Eva died in 1930 Dekalb Co., GA and is buried at Harmony Bapt Ch Cem. in Banks Co., GA.
