Green Oliver Powell Green Oliver Powell was born in Hall Co. Ga., April 16, 1826, married Martha Elizabeth Stewart, in Benton Co., Ala. Dec. 13, 1847.  She was born 1832 in Ga.  She is a Cherokee Indian. Green Oliver Powell's father was Lewis R. Powell, born in Va., 1792.  His mother was Sarah ?, The Children of Green Oliver Powell and Martha Elizabeth Stewart:   1. Martha Powell   2. Thomas Powell   3. Unknown Powell   4. George Thomas Powell 12. Henry Clay Powell 13. Isaac (Babe) Newton Powell, Sr. Some of Green Oliver Powell's children went to Harlan Co. Ky. and worked in the Coal Mines, some stayed in the Chattanooga, Tn., Northwest Ga. area.
