Will of Julia A. Caldwell

Hall County

In the name of God Amen;

I Julia A. Caldwell of the County of Hall, State of Georgia being of sound and disposing memory, do make this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all wills and testaments heretofore made by me.

Item 1 - I desire and request that my body receive a decent Christian burial, and that my just debts be paid if any.

Item 2 - Should my husband Andrew W. Caldwell, outlive me I direct that my Executor to be hereinafter named, pay to him One Hundred Dollars as soon after my death as it can conveniently be done.

Item 3 - After my burial expense and the One Hundred Dollars bequeathed to Andrew W. Caldwell have been paid, I desire and direct that one half of the remainder of my estate, both real and personal (the money value thereof) be paid to the grand children of myself daughters and sons of my son James M. Harrison deceased to wit Annie B. Mc Kinzey, James Leon Harrison and Daniel S. Harrison share and share alike.

Item 4 - The remaining one half of my estate I give and bequeath to my son Wm. H. Harrison, to be held in trust, without bond by him for the use of his wife Bettie Harrison, and at the death of said Bettie Harrison, should there be any of said estate herein bequeathed to said Bettie Harrison not spent at the time of her death be divided between the children of my son Wm. H. Harrison it being understood that my two great grand-sons Willis Lamer Claxton and James Harrison Claxton, are to receive the share to which their mother would have been entitled had she been in life at my death (The children of said Wm. H. Harrison herein referred to are Mary C. Baggerly, James M. Harrison and Julia Bessie Harrison.

Item 5 - The estate now owned by me and to which this instrument refers is a parcel of lot of land on North Green Street in the City of Gainesville Georgia, the same being the lot on which I now reside at the signing and dating of this will.

My household and kitchen furniture and such money and notes as may be in my possession - or due me - at the time of my death should the above mentioned real estate be sold, exchanged and reinvested be made before my death, then this will applies to such acquired property and its increase, there is no mortgage or other encumbrance on the personal or real estate herein mentioned.

Item 6 - I hereby appoint my son William Harrison Executor of this my last will and testament and desire that he perform the duties of Executor under this will without being required to give bond and a security as such Executor.

Item 7 - Should my son William H. Harrison die before I depart this life then I desire that my grandson James M. Harrison son of Wm. H. Harrison take his fathers place as Executor of this will with the same power and privilege as that said William H. Harrison would have enjoyed under its provisions had he have lived.

In witness whereof I have this day September 25th 1896, signed and sealed this my last will and testament..

We the undersigned citizens of Hall County State of Georgia sign our names as witnesses to the foregoing last will and Testament of Julia A. Caldwell she signing her name in our presence and we signing our names in her presence -This Sept 25th 1896.

Personally appeared F. C. Hunt named as a witness to the within writing purporting to be the last will of Mrs. Julia A. Caldwell who being duly sworn says that he with O. W. Pitman and A. E. Cumming did on the 25th day of Sept. 1896 attest as witnesses the within writing in the presence of Mrs. Julia A. Caldwell who in their presence voluntarily signed and published the same as her last will; and that the said Mrs. Julia A. Caldwell was at the time of said attestation and signing of sound and disposing mind and memory. F. C. Hunt
