NATHAN
COOK OF HANCOCK COUNTY
OBITUARY
Died at his residence in Hancock County on the 24th
of November last.
Nathan
Cook age 54 years after a protracted illness of about 20 months brought on by a
paralytic stroke. To those
acquainted with the deceased, it would be useless say anything of him-they all
loved and respected him. For thirty-
one years he had been an acceptable and with member of the M. E. Church.
He also sustained the
relations which he bore to his family, society and as husband, father, master
and citizen. We have lost in him an
honest man devoted Christian. His
house was in order when summoned by death. During
his confinement he had many happy seasons and delighted to talk of the goodness
of God and the love of the Savior. He felt no misgivings as to his acceptance;
but spoke of his departure with perfect composure and looked forward the time
when his sufferings would cease. “Blessed
are the dead who die in the Lord, for they rest from their labors and their
works do follow them.” To his
wife, children, relatives and friends, I
would say, follow the Savior as he did and soon you will shall meet him in haven
to part no more.
