Last Will & Testament of Mary Ann DAVIS




Recorded in Will Book 2, 1850-1875, page 21, Harris Co., GA. She was the widow of William Davis who died earlier.

State of Georgia )
Harris County ) I Mary Ann Davis of the State and County aforesaaid being much afflicted in boddy (sic) but Sound in mind and disposing memory do make this my last will and testament.

Item 1st I commit my Soul to God who gave it believing ____(?) the murats (sic) of Our Lord JesusChrist hoping in an immortality beyond the grave and my boddy (sic) to be decently buried by my representatives as they may think best.

Item 2d. I will and bequeath that my property be disposed of in the manner follering (sic) my Executors first paying all just debts against me.

Item 3rd. I will and bequeath until Matilda Ann Middlebrook, Elizabeth Ann Williams one hundred dollars each to be paid as sooon a convenient by my Executor

Item 4th. I will and bequeath all the remainder of my property both real and personal to my seven children Sarah Jane Smith, Roxie Benton, Sophronia Hood, William E., Charles Henry, Dora Ann and Mary Jane in the following manner to be divided equally with the following exceptions. Mary Ann and Dora Ann five hundred dollars each and Charles Henry one hundred dollars the advantage ____(?) give daughters to have theres (sic) during there natual life and then to their children.

Item 5th. I do appoint and ordain James G. Davis my executor to carry out this my last will and testament.

Signed sealed and published this 22d day of June Eighteen hundred and Fifty two in the presence of the subscribing witnesses.

Sworn to and subscribed in open court this August 2nd 1852.
