Has anyone in Henry Co. come across listings of Bible records published in FAMILY PUZZLERS, the weekly genealogy magazine edited by Mary Bondurant Warren from 1964 until 1998? I thought that HERITAGE PAPERS went out of business when Mrs. Warren stopped publishing Puzzlers the end of 1998. Not so!! I recently found the new websites for HERITAGE PAPERS as well as for FAMILY PUZZLERS, TNG, the monthly magazine edited by Mrs. Warren’s daughter Amy Warren Sanders! Most of the items that Heritage Papers used to advertise in their annual catalog are still available, including back issues of the quarterly magazines GEORGIA GENEALOGIST and CAROLINA GENEALOGIST, lots of historic maps, as well as source materials for Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia. Some bound volumes of Family Puzzlers are still available. For Heritage Papers, go to http://www.galaxymall.com/books/heritagepapers For Family Puzzlers, The Next Generation, go to http://www.galaxymall.com/books/familypuzzlers I just thought you’d like to know, I did!! BENTLEY, DAVIS, PARKERSON, PARKINSON posted by marilyn Bentley Dawson on Wednesday, May 23, 2001
Searching for information on W.L.Bentley family that settled in Butts and Monroe Counties, GA between 1840-42. William Larkin "Willis" Bentley was born 1812 to James(?) and Rachel Parkerson/Parkinson Bentley. But I find now that there is a W.L. Bentley listed on 1840 Henry County, GA Census, pg. 342, between 20-30, with an elder woman, between 40-50 who may have been his Mother, and a younger girl, age 10-15. This is exactly the age Willis, his mother Rachel P. Bentley, and a sister Martha would have been. T I have record of marriage, in 1842 Monroe County, GA for Willis Bentley to Ann Davis. I previously had thought that James Bentley and family, who settled in Monroe County, GA by 1840, was father to my Willis Bentley, but now that I find this W.L. Bentley in Henry County, GA 1840,I question my original certainty. Now I wonder if this could be my Willaim or Willis Larkin Bentley living with Mother and Sister in Henry County, GA in 1840, before he moved on and married in Monroe county, 1842. Does anyone have leads or suggestions on this puzzle? I have not been able to get to a Library to read furthur on this 1840 Henry Co., GA Census for W.L. Bentley, but I will get there soon.. I would sure appreciate comments or leads on this. Thanks.
