HALL, JENKINS Rhonda Knight rknight@coker.edu 23 Jul 2013 I have a query about Ezekiel Jenkins (b. c. 1786 in Virginia) and Sally Hall (b. c. 1822 in South Carolina). Their first appearance in District 42, Henry County, Georgia is on the 1850 census, where in his household he is listed as Jenkins and she and 3 small children, ranging from 4 to 7 months, are listed as Hall. There is also another member of the household E. J. (or E. P.) Hilbourn, age 3. In the 1860 census, Sally and the children are listed as Jenkins, there are 3 younger children born after 1850, and E. J. Hilbourn is no longer listed. I assume that Sally Hall was a young widow who married the much older Ezekiel Jenkins. However, the names are puzzling in 1850, and I can’t find records of Sally’s marriage to either Mr. Hill or Ezekiel Jenkins in the Henry County Marriage books. Any information on Jenkins or Hill or their families would be appreciated. My 2nd great grandmother was Isabella (Hall?) Jenkins Walden, one of the children listed on the 1850 census.

TURNER Richard Graham rtgraham@aol.com May 23 2002 I'm trying to find out if the Henry Co. courthouse ever had a fire in which land records were destroyed. My Turner family tradition, passed down by word of mouth, states that a fire in the courthouse in the county in which they lived destroyed the records for the land that they owned. Apparently they did not have a copy of the deed and they were forced to move. My Turner ancestor ended up in Autauga Co., Alabama, but was married in Henry Co. in 1842 prior to the move. I don't know for sure if Henry Co. is where he lived or just where he got married. Knowing which GA county courthouses burned would help narrow down where he lived.

WALKER, STONE, TAYLOR Steve Stone stonesa@supship.navy.mil 07 Nov 2002 I am researching my brick wall Walker ancestor. He was known within the family as Jim Sanford Walker. Born prior to 1790, possibly in SC. Married to Nancy Ann Upchurch in Henry Co. Lived in the county for at least 20 years. His only known child was Joseph, b. 25 Feb. 1810, probably in Henry Co. He died 20 Aug 1880, Carroll Co. GA. Joseph married Mary Ashmore, born 21 Oct. 1820, died 6 Apr. 1892. Both buried at Old Camp United Methodist Church, Carrollton GA. Joseph's children are fairly well documented. The Henry Co. census records do list a James Walker, but is in unclear if this is the "Jim Sanford" of my family. If anyone in the county does Walker research or knows of information to help clarify the history, please contact me. I do research on Stone and Taylor lines also. Both had members in GA in early 1800s, in case anyone needs information on those lines. All 3 family groups migrated to E. TX. Taylors in the 1840s. Walkers and Stones at the same time just prior to 1880. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve Stone Grand Bay, AL
