ORILIOUS HUNT BANKS

SHADY DALE - Orilious Hunt Banks, 94, died Thursday in a Gray nursing home.  A lifelong resident of Shady Dale, has was a deacon at Providence Baptist Church.  He was active in Georgia banking 70 years beginning with the Citizens Bank of Shady Dale.  At the time of his death he served on the Board of Directors of Bank South in Macon and Monticello and Middle Georgia Bank in Byron. He was former mayor of Shady Dale and was chairman of the Jasper County Board of Education 15 years.  He was a farmer and cattleman and operated a cotton gin, warehouse and feed and fertilizer business.  He was a member of the Walton Lodge No. 200 F&AM.  He was an Army veteran who served in World War I.  Survivors : wife, Louise Young Banks of Shady Dale, daughters, Nancy Kelly and Clydie Jordan both of Monticello, Sunny Lane of Macon and Ludy Peavy of Byron, 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Services:  2 p.m. today in Providence Baptist burial the church cemetery.  The Revs. Gene Hammonds and Janene Israel will officiate.  The family suggests donations be made to Providence Baptist Church, Shady Dale.  Jordan Funeral Home in Monticello has charge of arrangements.
