"John E. Jones On April 1,
1836, at the April term of the Superior Court, John E. JONES petitioned the superior court to become a citizen of the United States.
He stated that he was born a subject of the King of Great Britain and Ireland in Carmonthenshire in the principality of Wales, April 4, 1805; that he was a
minor, or thereabout, and during minority, except for one voyage to Liverpool in an American vessel; and for three years next preceding the present date it
had been his intention bona fide to be admitted a citizen of the United States, and he presented a petition, complying with all the laws, etc., in
regard to naturalization. James H. STARK was his attorney. On April 5, 1836, Honorable Angus M. D. KING, judge of the superior court, administered the
oath. John E. JONES was a resident of Jackson in 1837. He owned two lots, No. 2, and No. 3, in square No. 10, and mortgaged same to John HALL March 9, 1837.
On October 19, 1833, he married Thuzza THOMPSON, of Butts County." [1]

Georgia; Henry THOMSON / THOMPSON and Hannah GRIFFIN married 1793
[marriage bond 7 Jan 1793, Columbia County, Georgia]; Thuzza THOMPSON is thought to be
granddaughter of ARW [NC] Michael GRIFFIN and
of Nancy Ann WELDON; Thuzza THOMPSON is also thought to be ggranddaughter
of Jacob WELDON, of St. Paul's Parish, which became Richmond County, Georgia circa 1790, and later,
the northern part of Richmond County, became Columbia County, Georgia.
Thuzza THOMPSON married Wales immigrant John E. JONES, October 19, 1833, Butts County, Georgia.
