Located on Murder Creek Road in northern Jasper County

Two infant graves, the children of John Herschel and Georgianna Cook Kelly

 

John Wesley Cook Sr. was born in South Carolina and married Mary Ann Parnel Cook November 27, 1834 in Jasper County.  He was a farmer and a local Methodist preacher.  He is listed in Methodist Preachers in Georgia 1783-1900.  He served the Ocmulgee Mission.  His grave is the only one marked.  It is a rough stone hand inscribed with J. Cook.

Due to the diligent work of  James and Jessica Manning (cleaning an extremely overgrown cemetery) ,  contributions provided by family members of those buried at the Cook Cemetery,  and  the memory of  a 102 year old relative, a complete listing of those buried at this cemetery has been provided, markers have been placed and a fence erected around the cemetery.
