Additional Information on burials at the Maddux Cemetery The following is am updated listing of burials at the Maddux Cemetery
compiled by William C. Maddox ( wmadd123@bellsouth.net ) in 2015
Not listed here is Mitt Maddux (Emory M. Maddux). William Maddox ordered and placed a government marker to the gravesite he believes is E. M. Maddux. E. M. was
a Confederate soldier with Co B of the 44th Georgia Infantry. His name was listed in the Lancaster Cemetery book at being buried here but with no marker. When I transcribed
this book back in 2002, by my error, I failed to list his name. See find a grave memorial #146248688 for a photo of his headstone and other family information. Also believed to be buried here is John W. Maddux, brother of E. M. Maddux. John W. was also a soldier with Co B of the 44th Georgia Infantry. According to his compiled service record, he was released from the Confederate Army due to health reasons and he passed away in Jasper County on April 1, 1863. He is possibly buried in one of several unmarked graves at this cemetery.
