Clayton Perry was born in 1912 to Lizzie Lee Kelly Perry and Weyman Wesley Perry in Shady Dale, Georgia. Lizzie's parents were Burton Clark Kelly and Marguerite Serena Fish Kelly. Daisey Kelly was the youngest daughter of Marguerite and Burton Clark Kelly. Weyman Wesley Perry was the son of Varina Davis Banks and Edwin Fletcher Perry, Sr.
