David C. Jones was a member of Capt George W. Comer's Company, also known as Jasper Maxey Infantry and later became Company C, 6th Regiment Georgia State Guards. It mustered out in Monticello, Georgia. David C. Jones, 3rd Corporal, mustered in August 13 1863 in Monticello, Georgia by Capt. T. J. Alexander. This soldier was later present on the muster roll of Co C, 6th Regiment Georgia State Guards for September 14 to December 31, 1863 and Dec 31 1863 to Jan 31 1864.

Exchanged at Point Lookout, Maryland, January 17, 1865. Home on wounded furlough close of war.

Private, May 23 1861. Killed on retreat from Richmond, Virginia, April 1865.
