given permission to exercise his gift in public. [He was the] Only Negro so
honored.

1856, Page 116 Installed ceiling and glass windows in the meeting house.

1858. Charles P. Mayfield licensed to preach.

1865, June 10, page 148. Report indicated Negro members are leaving

church and leaving owners.

1865, August 13. Report indicated Negroes becoming demoralized.

1865, September 9. For the first time in Minutes, Negroes are referred to
as "former servants of."
