This Indenture made this 18th day of November in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty-Six between Unity Shuffield of the one pard (should be part) and county and state aforesaid. J.R. (possibly K) Beardey of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the said Unity Shuffield of the first part for and in Consideration of the Sum of One Hundred and Nineteen Dollars of good and lawful Money of the State to her in hand paid before Sealing and delivering of the presents bargaind Sold and by these presents doth grant and Convey to the said J.R. (again possibly K) Bearden of the Second part his heirs and assigns forever all that Certain lot of land lying and being in the County of Lumpkin state aforesaid with is Known and distinquished as lot No 499 Four Hundred and Ninety-Nine in the Fifth District and first Section Containing Forty acres more or less To Have and To Hold together with all and Singular the testaments and appartenances thereto and all the estate title and interest of the said party of the first part therein and the said party of the first part doth hereby Convenant and agree with said party of the Second part that at the time of delivery hereof the said party of the first part is the lawful owner of the premises above granted and Seized thereof in fee Simply absolutely and that she Will Warrant and ever defend the above granted premises in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever In Witness whereof I have here unto let my hand and affixed by seal the day and year above written

Notes: This was typed as it was written. The notes below are a few correction to simply.
Unity Shuffield is the correct first party not Unicy as in the signature line.
J.R. (possibly K – unclear) Bearden is the correct second party not Beardey as stated once above.
Henry Shuffield is the witness not Henry Shuffiel.
Also – this transaction took place in Nov 1856 and was not recorded in Lumpkin County until Aug 1890. That is no typo there is a 34 years gap???
