2. Sam W. Haynes' Introduction, which tells a little about General Thomas Jefferson Green's military service in Texas before the ill-fated Mier Expedition:

JOURNAL of the TEXIAN EXPEDITION AGAINST MIER, Gen. Thomas J.
Green, Edited by Sam W. Haynes, Austin: W. Thomas Taylor, 325 pp.,
1993. Republication of the 1845 original by Harper & Brothers,

1998, with permission.

Journal of the Texian Expedition Against Mier

Capt. Parker's service under Gen. Green occurred after the last big battle of the Texas Revolution (Battle of San Jacinto in April), so his period of service hasn't gotten very much attention from the historians, except there is some discussion in AFTER SAN JACINTO: The Texas-Mexican Frontier 1836-1841, Joseph Milton Nance, Univ. of Texas Press, Austin, 1963. Although Capt. Parker's company wasn't in a battle, its presence kept the Mexican Army from returning.

3. Some of the men's names might be in the Index to Republic Claims at the Texas State Library and Archives website:

Hope this helps,
