OBITUARY Mrs. Mattie (Odom) Rider, 86, of Dahlonega, died Friday April 4, 2003, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Rider was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, was a homemaker and member of Siloam Baptist Church in Lumpkin County. She was the daughter of the late Webb and Addie Davis Odom and was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Rider; son, Kenneth Rider; sister, Lula Dale; and brothers, Garland Odom, Cicero Odom, and Spencer Odom. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Pauline Rider, Dahlonega; sister, Alla Shell, Oregon; grandchildren, Donna Collins, Danny Rider; great-grandchildren, Brittany Rider, Justin Collins, Amanda Collins; and a large number of other relatives. Services were held April 7 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega with Rev. Johnny Garrett and the Rev. J.R. Fields officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County. Banister Funeral Home, Dahlonega, was in charge of the arrangements.
