Margaret (Freeland) Pierce       Margaret Freeland was born May 1848 in Georgia.  She married in Lumpkin County on April 13, 1865 to Newton J. Pierce, who was born Jan 1846 in Hall County, GA, the son of Wilson Pierce and Nancy Barton.  They had twelve children.  In 1872, the family moved from Lumpkin to Hall County, along with Newton's parents.  In 1886 or 1887, the Newton J. Pierce family moved to Lincoln Center, Kansas.  By 1891, they had located to Greene County, MO, where they settled and rasied their family.  They are last found on the 1900 census of Greene County, MO.  It is not known when either Newton or Margaret died. On the back of the photo it says: Margaret Pierce Wife of Jackson Pierce and mother of Newton W. Pierce The children of Margaret and Newton J.
