Sarah (Jones) Roberts

Sarah (Jones) ROBERTS was born circa 1815 in North Carolina, the daughter of John Jones and Lettice Melton. She married about 1835 to Miles M. Roberts. They lived in Youngcane District of Union County, GA until 1856 when they moved to Davis' District of Lumpkin County. They settled on Two Run Creek and remained there the rest of their lives. Miles was a Baptist Preacher who served many of the churches in Lumpkin County. Sarah was the mother of seven children: John W., Doherty M., Letty C., Hulda L., Andrew Y., Mary E. and Marion C. Roberts. Sarah died of heart disease in September of 1881.
