About the origin of the Wahoo Baptist Church, the booklet states the following:

"...Wahoo was established by an unknown group of charter members on October 31, 1819."

"The Wahoo minutes for the first fourteen years (1819-1833) are missing, but the original Rules of Decorum, Articles of Faith, and date of organization have been preserved in written form."

As far as individual members, the booklet simply lists people found in the church minutes during different periods of the church's history, but not specific dates, nor events associated with those people. The names in these lists were abstracted from the church minutes which are preserved on microfilm at the Georgia State Archives. The church minutes are not complete for all periods. There are also membership rolls included on the microfilm, but it is difficult to determine exactly what period of time each membership roll applies to. The lookups I provide will give you just the names of people listed with the surnames you request. These lists are divided into the following time periods:

For those interested in persons buried in the Wahoo Cemetery, the booklet does not have a cemetery listing, but there is a listing of the old section of the cemetery (on the Lumpkin Co. website) which was done in 1980.
